Reauthenticate Microsoft OneDrive
Unlike the Email and Calendar Integration where each user is responsible for authenticating to their own account, only one user in the firm can authenticate to OneDrive.
When a re-authentication is required, firm members with the "Firm Administrator" permission setting will see a banner under Firm Settings and on the Documents tab of all Matters. All other users will also see a banner on the Documents tab on all Matters.
Note: When re-authenticating, admins should use the same account that was previously used.
Firm Settings (as Administrator)
As a firm administrator, go to Firm Settings and then click the option for “Documents & Notes”. The following banner will appear on the “Integration” tab indicating that your authentication has become invalid:
Note: We recommend logging in to CARET Legal from an Incognito browser to complete the re-authentication so you can select the Microsoft account credentials yourself. This will allow you to select the account that was previously integrated.
Click the “Reset OneDrive Integration” button to complete the re-authentication.
If you only ever login to one Microsoft account, there is no need to use Incognito.
If you have sufficient permissions, you can complete the authentication. Select the checkbox and click “Accept” in the window that appears.
Depending on your firm’s Microsoft security permissions, some users may require additional approval from your IT to complete the reauthentication process. The following prompt may appear and calls out the Microsoft Enterprise App Account that needs to be approved by IT; “CARET Legal – OneDrive Integration”.
Please reach out to your IT team to get the necessary backend approval. After they approve, you can click the reset button in CARET Legal to re-authenticate.
Documents Tab on Matter (As Administrator)
As a firm administrator, the following banner will appear on the Documents tab on any Matter indicating that your authentication has become invalid:
Follow same steps as above to re-authenticate from the Documents tab on Matter.
Documents Tab on Matter (As Non-Administrator)
The Documents tab on Matters includes a banner for typical firm members letting them know that the OneDrive integration is disabled pending re-authentication. Since only Firm Administrators can re-authenticate, typical users will not see an option to re-authenticate themselves. They will need to reach out to a firm administrator who can perform the re-authentication following the above steps.
