How do I create a new contact?

There are four ways to create a new contact:

  1. Quick Add
  2. Contact section
  3. Matter section
  4. New Hard Cost

Quick Add 

Contacts can be quickly added from any section of CARET Legal through the Quick Add menu. You can choose to add a New Person or New Company.

Contact section

Navigate to the Contact section of CARET Legal, click + on the right-hand side of the action bar, then select either New Person or New Company from the drop-down list.

 

 

Matter section

Navigate to the Matters section of CARET Legal and open a Matters details, then click on the Contacts tab and click + on the right-hand side of the action bar to display the Add Matter Contact modal.

Click + next to the Contact field and select either Add Person or Add Company from the drop-down list.

 

 

New Hard Cost

 

When creating a new check or credit card hard cost, you will be required to assign the payment to a Contact or Vendor. Payee is a required field for record and report purposes. This field is a drop down menu that will display all existing Contacts and Vendors. If the payee is not already in the system, you can add them on the fly by clicking on the plus sign to the right of that dropdown.
