How do I Delete a Contact?

There are two ways to delete a contact.
  1. To delete from the Edit Person modal, click on the Contacts icon in the navigation bar and select View/Edit from the kebab menu on the right-hand side of the Contact card you would like to delete.

  2. Click the trashcan in the lower left to delete the Contact from your CARET Legal Account.

    Or, 

  3. You can select Delete directly from the kebab menu of the Contact card.

*Note: If a contact is listed as a Primary Client in a Matter, you will not be able to delete them. Primary Client is a required field, so you will need to go to any matters where that is the primary client and reassign the matter to a different Contact.

 

This will also be the case if they are a Primary Client in a deleted Matter. Because matters can be recovered after deletion, the data for that Contact is still tied to the deleted matter. You will need to restore the matter/s and change the Client there before redeleting the matter.
