How do I change a Matter's Status to Closed?

When a matter is considered completed, or if you want to stop users from adding new activity to that matter, you can change the status of a Matter from within the Matter details.
  1. Navigate to the Matters section, then select a Matter No to display the Matter details.

  2. Hover over the Status in the top Matter Fields section, then click the edit icon that appears to open up a Select Status field with options to change the Status to Closed, Hold or Pending.

  3. Select Closed from the drop-down list, then click the blue checkmark to save this change.


Matters marked "Closed" or "On Hold," are no longer visible in most of your active Matter drop-down menus. This includes menus for creating new Time Entries, assigning Emails, or assigning Calendar Events.

New entries can only be assigned to a Closed Matter if you navigate to that Matter details page and create the activity from within it.
