How is my Email Account registered in CARET Legal?

NOTE: A recent system update was done to improve performance which may require you to re-authenticate your email sync. 

Your account will need to redo email registration if you see a pop-up message to re-authenticate email or if your screen shows the message “error connecting to mailbox”. To get started, be sure to stop your email sync. For more information, please see our article How do I stop My Email from syncing in CARET Legal?

If you are looking to sync your email account with CARET Legal, change the registered email account, or restart the connection between your email account and CARET Legal you will need to Re-register.
 

To register your Email Account

  1. Select My Settings from the drop-down menu beside your avatar.

  2. Scroll down to Email Setup and select your email provider.

  3. A window displays asking  for your Email Address and Password.
    Google or IMAP email
    Microsoft O365 email
     
  4. Register your email, log out of CARET Legal, clear your cache, and log back in. The sync will be up and running.
  5. Return to My Settings to map your folders. Scroll down to Folder Settings.

    • Complete the fields by entering or selecting a folder from the drop-down lists.
    • For Exchange users, Trash should be mapped to Deleted Items and Spam should be mapped to Junk Email.

"Approval required" message

This message may appear if your Microsoft account has certain security requirements.
 

      • If you see this message, please contact your IT admin to approve the new app registration. For Microsoft 365, the admin needs an administrator role or a designated reviewer with the appropriate role to review admin consent requests.
