Configure and Use Time Entry Posting Feature

00:03: It’s all about how to easily set up and use our fantastic time entry posting

00:08: feature.

00:08: This new tool is designed just for you, to help

00:11: make your billing process smoother and more accurate.

00:13: You’re going to love how it improves your efficiency!

00:17: This tutorial will guide you on configuring and utilizing our time posting option.

00:25: Start by heading to the top right corner and diving into firm settings.

00:29: You will need administrator privileges to get there.

00:33: Next, click on the billing and accounting header.

00:36: Dive into billing options.

00:38: Locate the checkbox for creating new time

00:40: entries in draft unposted mode, marked as new. Just tick that on.

00:48: Scroll down to the bottom right corner and just make sure you hit update to change

00:52: the setting.

00:53: Now that we’ve got the settings all set up, let’s jump into creating some time

00:57: entries.

01:01: I’m heading back to the dashboard since it’s a good spot, but feel free to do this

01:05: from the time section too.

01:06: Use the quick add option or hit the plus sign in the green banner to make a new time

01:11: entry.

01:12: Now, just like with our old time entry, you’ll still need to give a matter, a date,

01:16: a duration, a type of work, and a narrative.

01:27: Confirm the timekeeper and the rate.

01:30: Now, at the bottom of the screen, you can hit save and close or save and new.

01:36: Once you save, you can post your entry. Just so you know, after you post, you can't

01:41: edit the time entry anymore, but it can still be included in the invoice generation

01:45: process.

01:54: Click the Save & Close button to finalize your time entry and exit the creation

01:58: screen.

01:59: Check out our time entry table, and you’ll spot an extra column showing whether

02:03: entries are posted or unposted. Plus,

02:06: there are filters on the top left for that too.

02:11: Select the time entry and, using our multi-select option, proceed to post your time to

02:16: inform everyone that it’s ready for billing.

02:21: Mark the selected time entry as ready for billing;

02:23: no further edits will be permitted.

02:28: When prompted with "Are you sure you want to post this entry?" simply confirm to

02:32: proceed with the posting.

02:34: Using the edit function

02:35: lets me check the entry before posting it or, if I need to, un-post the time entry.

02:43: Use the same edit function to go back and repost the entry.
