How to use CARET Legal's Date Calculator?

The Date Calculator is integrated into the New Event modal.
This topic covers:


  1. Click Calculate to compute any number of days/weeks/months/years forward or backward from a specified date.

  2. The Date Calculation modal displays.

  3. Complete the fields: 
    • Optionally, enter or select a Calculation Template.
    • Use the Calendar controls to change the date under the Original Date field.
    • Enter a number under the Adjustment field and select Days, Weeks, Months, or Years from the drop-down menu.
      • For example, if you need to complete a task 60 days prior to the Original Date, input "-60" and select Days from the drop-down menu.
      • To calculate a date 60 days after the Original Date, input "60" and select Days from the drop-down menu. 
    • Toggle the switches to the right to Count Weekends, Count Federal Holidays, Move to next workday.
    • Enter a number to Add days for mail delivery.

  4. If this criterion is something you use frequently click Save as new template to add it to the Calculation Template drop-down menu for easy access.

Editing a Calculation Template

  1. Select Firm Settings from the drop-down menu to the right of your avatar.


  2. Click Events & Calendar Rules from the Firm Settings navigation bar and select Date Calculation Templates from the expanded menu.:

  3. Click the Edit icon at the far right of the template to display the Date Calculation modal.

  4. Make your adjustments and click Update Template.
