Zoom Integration Documentation

Users can seamlessly create and manage Zoom Meetings within CARET Legal. Invitees join using the meeting information provided within the Event Description. Meeting times automatically update if edits are made to the originating event's timings.

To enable Zoom:

  1. Select Firm Settings from the drop-down menu beside your avatar.

  2. Click Events & Calendar Rules on the left menu bar, then select Zoom Integration from the expanded menu.

  3. Click Enable Zoom Integration to initiate integration for your firm.

  4. When Zoom integration is enabled, firm members can navigate to the User Settings modal by selecting My Settings below Firm Settings.

  5. Within this modal, they scroll or select User Preferences, then click Enable Zoom Integration...

  6. This opens a Zoom Sign In window.

  7. The user logs into to their Zoom account and allows permission to integrate with CARET Legal.

    • If the Zoom account in question was previously used to integrate with CARET Legal for a different user, the (previous) user’s integration will be disabled and will be replaced by the current user.

On successful installation, the page will redirect to CARET Legal's Dashboard.


Using Zoom within CARET Legal

Ensure that Zoom Integration is enabled by your Firm and you have successfully integrated with Zoom.

  1. Navigate to the New Event modal from the Quick Add menu or by clicking + in the Calendar tab bar.

  2. Click Generate Zoom Meeting Link to display the Zoom Meeting Info in the Description.

    Editing or changing the Zoom Meeting Info in the Event Description renders the information useless.

  3. Click Save, then navigate to the event in question and use the Join Meeting Link or the Meeting ID along with the Password to initiate the Zoom meeting.

    • Upcoming and scheduled meetings can also be viewed via the user’s on the event owner's Zoom Account by navigating to My Account - Meetings.

    • Updating the date and time of an event with an existing Zoom meeting in CARET Legal will also update the meeting’s date and time on the event owner’s Zoom Account.

      Updating the Zoom Meeting Info within Zoom will not update in CARET Legal.

Disconnecting the Zoom App from CARET Legal:

  1. Select My Settings from the drop-down menu beside your avatar.

  2. Then navigate to the User Preferences section in the User Settings modal and click Disable Zoom Integration.

Uninstalling the Zoom App:

  1. Log into your Zoom Account and Navigate to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Click Manage - Installed Apps or search for the CARET Legal App.
  3. Click CARET Legal App.
  4. Click Uninstall.
