  • Updated

The following steps will work for Microsoft Outlook 2013 or 2016.

Export your Contacts from Outlook

  1. Click the File tab.

This is what the ribbon looks like in Outlook 2016.

  2. Select Open & Export from the left navigation pane, then click Import/Export from the main screen to open the Import and Export Wizard.

  3. Select Export to a file from the Choose an action to perform drop-down list.

    Choose Export to a file.

  4. Click Next > and choose Comma Separated Values.

  5. Scroll if needed and select the Contacts folder that's under your account in the Select folder to export from field.

Scroll up and then choose the contacts folder you want to export.

  6. Click Next >, then choose Browse, name your file, and click OK.

Assign a name to your contacts file.

  7. Confirm where your new contacts file will be saved on your computer, and click Next >.

  8. Click Finish to start exporting your contacts immediately. A progress bar displays in the Import and Export Progress prompt, which disappears when the process is complete.
