00:06:

00:07: The Activity Log allows users to review actions performed within a matter, helping

00:12: track activity, retrace steps, and quickly return to work.

00:18: The Activity Log is located within each matter as a dedicated tab titled Activity

00:23: Log.

00:27: Here you will see a chronological list of activity associated with the matter,

00:32: including actions that are date and time stamped for easy reference.

00:38: The activity log serves as a historical record of activity within CARET Legal.

00:43: It can be useful when reviewing recent work, investigating matter-related changes,

00:48: or identifying activity that may require follow-up.

00:53: One of the most valuable uses of the activity log is identifying billable work that

00:58: may not have been captured as time.

01:01: If you identify billable work that has not yet been entered as time, you can quickly

01:05: create a time entry directly from the activity log by selecting the green clock

01:10: icon.

01:16: This will open a new time entry window where you can update the narrative, enter a

01:20: duration, select a work type, and complete any additional billing information before

01:25: saving.

01:32: This helps reduce missed billable time by allowing you to convert documented

01:36: activity into a complete time entry.

01:41: The activity log also includes advanced search options allowing you to filter

01:46: activities by type, user, or date range to quickly locate specific actions within

01:52: the matter.

01:57: When working in active matters with a large amount of history, advanced search can

02:01: help you quickly narrow down results to find specific activity.

02:07: For firm administrators, a firm-wide activity log is also available within firm

02:11: settings.

02:14: To access this, navigate to Firm Settings and

02:20: select Activity Log under Firm Options.

02:26: This log functions similarly but includes activity across all matters within the

02:30: firm, making it useful for reviewing firm-wide activity and investigating changes

02:36: across multiple matters.

02:39: Firm administrators may also use the green clock within the firm-wide activity log

02:43: to create time entries directly from recorded activity.
